The Ocala Munch© Event Calendar.

Last Updated: May 1, 2018.

What is a munch? ~ It is a casual lunch or dinner with other local adults who have an interest in alternative sexuality. One of the best & newest definitions of a munch that really gets to the heart of it: A plainclothes gathering where people with different sexual interests meet and mingle.

What is the Ocala Munch©?  We are a group for discreet, consenting adults interested in face-to-face and online discussions in the Marion County, Alachua County, & surrounding counties in the central Florida region.

Currently, we have 4 munches each month:
• ~ Belleview D/s Book Club ~ 1st Thursdays, 8 - 10 PM ~ A time to socialize with friends and other lifestyle adults and to discuss a book on the D/s Lifestyle. Held in a semi-private room at a venue convenient for those on the south-side of Marion County near Belleview, Ocala, Summerfield, Dunnellon, Leesburg, Silver Springs, McIntosh, The Villages, Marion Oaks, or anywhere else in southern Marion County or the neighboring counties to the south!
• ~ Dunnellon Munch ~ 2nd Wednesdays, 4 - 8 PM ~ "Meet & Greet" ~ a time to socialize with friends and with other kinksters held in a semi-private room at a venue on the far west-side of Marion County which is also near Citrus, Levy, & Sumter Counties.
• ~ The County Line Munch + Game Night! ~ 3rd Tuesdays, 6 - 9:30 PM ~ "Meet & Greet + Game Night!" ~ a time to socialize with friends & other kinksters and an opportunity to PLAY GAMES such as Cards Against Humanity, Monopoly, Uno (or whatever games the attendees bring) ~ held in a semi-private room at a venue near the Marion & Alachua county line; and our continuing
• ~ Ocala 4th Tuesday Munch! ~ 4th Tuesdays, 6 - 10 PM ~ "Meet & Greet" ~ just a time to come out to socialize with your fellow local kinksters held at a venue on the south-east side of Ocala.

There is be no "BDSM play", no bondage, no SM.  Please dress casually, not as if you were going to a fetish party or night club.  Anyone looking at our group will think we are a bunch of friends hanging out, nothing more.

The  munches and all events sponsored by the Ocala Munch© group will be considered a Safe Space to talk about BDSM, fetishes, polyamory, open relationships, swinging, and more.  We are open to all genders and orientations. You must be at least 18 to attend.  Although we expect some of our discussions at the munch might spill over onto this FetLife group and others, please don't name others while talking about topics, unless you have their consent to do so.

Because people value their relationships with employers, family and "vanilla" friends, you should always act to protect their privacy.

Q & A:

Q: I am single and submissive. Can I come alone?
A: Yes.

Q: Me and mine are riding in on our Harley. Can we wear our leathers?
A: Yes.

Q: Why are the munches held during the week and not on the weekend?
A: Prior to & during the first munch of March 13, 2014, the question was asked, "What days are the best for you & yours to attend a munch?" People voted and the votes were tallied. Tuesday got the most votes followed closely (only 1 vote less) by Thursday. There were no votes for Saturday and only 1 vote for Sunday. We decided to hold 2 munches a month: 1 on 2nd Thursdays, and the other on 4th Tuesdays. We have expanded to 4 munches since that time (now on 1st Thursdays, 2nd Wednesdays, and on 3rd & 4th Tuesdays) at the urging of the group members.

Q: I have a burning question, I want to ask this at the munch and see what people have to say. Can I stand up and ask the group?
A: We can make a time for that. Get with one of the group leaders, please.

Q: I have never been to a munch before. Or kink party. Or anything, really. I am new, and I have a zillion questions. How can I get my questions answered?
A. A lot of questions can be answered in casual conversation at a munch. We planded & set up a Gateway program, a special hour devoted to answering the most common questions new people ask.  We call it the "Newbie Nooner".

Q: I have a service animal. Can I bring my animal with me?
A. Service animals are normally welcome in restaurants in Florida. Email Ms Lyndsey about the specific date you expect to attend and she will contact the host restaurant for assurances that your service animal is welcome.

Q. Is there a party afterwards?
A: No. At least, not one hosted or sponsored by the Ocala Munch© group.

Q: I have general questions about munches - got any links?
A: Check it out - http://findamunch.com/newcomer-tip/

We also offer other social events in & around the Ocala (Marion County) Florida area.  Currently we also offer:

  • Beginning in February of 2015, the Ocala Munch© group began offering "Ocala Munch© Invades The Woodshed" events. These were offered the last Saturday of each month for those people who like to plan ahead!! NOTICE:  "Officially" these events ended as a regular monthly event in January of 2017, but we started them again in 2018!

NOTE:
Events we no longer host

  • In January of 2015, the Ocala Munch© group began sponsoring "Newbie Night ~ Ocala!" which changed to "Newbie Nooner" in July of 2015. As of November 2016, this event was discontinued.
  • Beginning in March of 2015, the Ocala Munch© began sponsoring "Hands-On Learning" classes. These stopped in 2017.

What is a Safe Space?

The Ocala Munch©'s munches and other events are Safe Spaces to talk about BDSM topics. It is for this reason that we ask the attendees to not publicize the location & to always protect the privacy of your fellow attendees.

What is a safe space?

  • A safe space is a place where anyone can relax and be fully self-expressed, without fear of being made to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or unsafe on account of biological sex, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, cultural background, age, or physical or mental ability; a place where the rules guard each person's self-respect and dignity and strongly encourage everyone to respect others. ~ Advocates for Youth from their website's Glossary.
